Sony announced two new ebook readers coming at the end of August, ready to compete with Amazon's Kindle.  They also stated that prices of bestsellers and new releases would be lowered by $2, and also users would have access to over a million free books in several library formats.

Amazon has recently reduced Kindle prices by $60, and eWeek reports that Apple is also working on its own ebook project.
