It’s the perfect time to be a video blogger. As electronic companies continue to follow the trending social media websites and multimedia heavyweights like YouTube and MySpace, a new generation of camcorders have emerged – geared toward Vloggers!

Well instead of “vlogging” with your point and shoot digital camera and worrying if your viewers can make out your face among all those pixels, Vloggers are now going HD. Companies like Sony, Creative and Flip have created an HD video camera specifically for the typical “vlogger.”

Sony’s “Webbie HD Camera MHS-PM1” is considered one of the sexiest among mini camcorders. It comes in three colors: purple, orange and silver. It features a 5-megapixel still shot mode and swivel lens (ideal for shooting yourself). The downside is that you would need to buy a memory card separately. You can find this one on Sony dot com.

The Flip Mino HD is also the latest HD mini video camera and it comes in black, white – or if you’re feeling really creative, you can design your own cover. It has a slick design, records clear and impressive video and comes with 4 gigabytes of memory. Although it doesn’t come with a swivel lens or still shot mode like the Sony Webbie HD, it takes clearer and crisper video. You can snag this at Flip video dot com.

Our last mini camcorder is the Creative Vado HD. The design is a little more bulky than the Sony Webbie HD and the Flip Mino HD. It weighs slightly more but comes with a useful 8 gigabyte memory size. You can find this on Creative dot com.

But if used for anything else other than vlogging, the image stabilization isn’t that great unless used with a tripod and unless it’s daytime, these cameras don’t have built-in lights so you’re better off sticking to a more expensive and professional camera.

Overall, the trendy mini camcorders are fun and ideal for vloggers – all upload videos easily to multimedia sharing sites, easy to use (just press one button to record and stop) and they are all made into a convenient size.
