University of Hawaii (UH) sports goes global once again as Hawaiian Telcom video streams games on HTSportsNet .com. The games, which are produced by K5 and broadcast live in Hawaii on Channel 5, are available to viewers on the Mainland or those who desire to watch them over their broadband connection. Windows Media Player is also required.
"HTSportsNet.com allows fans to keep up with UH sports from anywhere – whether they’re traveling on business or on vacation – they don’t have to miss a single UH game so long as they have a broadband connection," said Michael Mac McHale, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Hawaiian Telcom.
HTSportsNet.com is also popular with former Hawaii residents who now live in different parts of the world, said McHale. There are a lot of loyal UH sports fans out there, and thanks to this service, they can now watch the games live, too.
Cost to view a single game is $9.95. Viewers can also opt for a $39.95 Single Sport iTicket and watch a complete season of one sport -- men¹s football, baseball, basketball or volleyball, or women¹s basketball, soccer or volleyball. Serious Rainbow Sports fans can purchase an All Sport iTicket for $69.95.
In addition, games will be archived on the Internet, allowing HTSportsNet.com subscribers to replay the games they purchased anytime from anywhere they have a high-speed connection.
Hawaiian Telcom High-Speed Internet (HSI) customers will receive a free season pass to one sport. HSI customers who have provided Hawaiian Telcom with a valid hawaiiantel.net email address will receive an email to that address which includes a promotional code that will provide them with a free full season of a single sport ($39.95 value).
"It’s our way of thanking our customers for their loyalty," said Mac. "It also shows them the innovative ways Hawaiian Telcom is working with local partners, such as the University of Hawaii and K5, to support them with our services."
