Mobi PCS, Hawaii’s only locally owned and operated wireless communications company, has partnered with local company BlueStreak Broadband to increase both the speed and capacity available to Mobi’s smartphone and Hele Wireless Broadband customers.

A Mobi PCS customer should experience upgraded data speeds in the areas served by BlueStreak Metro Ethernet service, which uses patented processes and technology to deliver extremely high-speed and highly reliable connectivity.Implementation should be completed by mid-2012.

“The exclusive BlueStreak Broadband technology will allow us to quickly and easily increase our capacity as our customers’ thirst for data services continues to grow exponentially,” explains Ed Kurzenski, Mobi PCS vice president and chief technical officer. “As a local company, we’re pleased that we can work with another Hawaii-based technology company to provide an even better experience for our customers.”

BlueStreak Broadband is a Hawaii-based company that provides ultra high-speed networks used by enterprises, government agencies and telecommunications service providers. BlueStreak is able to offer services with the performance and reliability characteristics of fiber-optic networks, the security and simplicity of Ethernet combined with the flexibility and cost advantages of aerial systems. The company currently offers its services in Hawaii and is planning several additional market launches in other U.S. cities.

Mobi PCS also expects that partnering with another local company will greatly increase response time during project implementation.
