We see more and more people using smartphones instead of ordinary cell phones every day. Now, a new study from the Pew Research Center as part of its Internet Project confirms that more Americans are gravitating toward smartphones. In fact, 25% of us prefer using smartphones over a computer to browse the Worldwide Web.
The study also found that 87% of smartphone owners access the Internet or email others on their handheld. The results are based on a national phone survey of 2,277 adults conducted between April 26th and May 22, 2011.
Among Pew’s findings:
This year the market has seen many new and improved smartphones, including the recent launch of America’s first glasses-free 3D phone, Sprint’s HTC EVO™ 3D. HTC EVO 3D takes the mobile multimedia experience to a new level, providing the ability to capture and view in 3D and share at 4G speeds while offering consumers the ultimate glasses-free 3D experience.
