The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency reported that Macy's California and Hawaii stores generate more than 10 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of solar power annually, equivalent to the amount of electricity needed to power more than 1,000 average American homes annually.  Macy’s ranks No. 14 by the EPA for use of green power, and ranks 19 on the Environmental Protection Agency’s Top 20 retail list of green power purchasers.
