A new feature from our resident smartphone expert, Ian Duong the Android Guy! An employee at Ohana PCS, the premiere Mobi PCS reseller on Oahu, he shares with us a review of the Samsung Messager Touch.

It's really similar to the Samsung Finesse as far as the touch screen part of it. All your main social widgets are there such as Twitter, Myspace, Facebook, Wikipedia and it's customizable. Sadly you can't download new widgets for the phone. It takes up to 16gb micro sd, and the card has to be formatted for the phone. Found out the Samsung I67 pouch fits it the best atm. A little loose, but I'm sure everyone can find something better.

The phone plays MP4 movie files but it's really slow and laggy. I wouldn't use this as a main selling point. It might be my conversion of the movie files so I gotta figure this one out. I played Ninja Assassin and it stuttered a lot. Gonna test out different movie formats, conversions and see. It might come down to the phone's hardware not being able to handle it.

Camera is good at 2 mp, needs to have good light setting. Found out that you can turn off the shutter sound for the camera, watch out for the pervs getting this one. Had a customer already asking if she should switch from her finesse to this phone. It came down to is the full qwerty keyboard and the compact size of the phone. She liked it.

No accelerometer sadly. Screen will only turn sideways when the keyboard is opened up. The keyboard is so slick. I love it! Keys are large and spaced out nicely. Did i mention it lights up? My only main concern is the movie playback. The reviews on phonescoop.com says it supports POP3, IMAP, SMTP so that includes your gmail, road runner emails, and i believe verizon uses the same email protocols for the service. Yahoo would probably work too, but Yahoo can be a bit lame. I couldn't find where you would set that up though.
