Do you or someone you know dream of becoming an aspiring singer? Ever wish to gain success for your singing talent? Do people keep telling you that you should be on American Idol? Well, what's stopping you? Probably the fact that you live on the island of Oahu and American Idol auditions take place on the mainland, right?

Well, don't let that be a reason to discourage from auditioning anymore! For its tenth season, American Idol, 19 Entertainment, FremantleMedia North America, and FOX partnered up with social media network, Myspace to launch a page where Idol hopefuls can post their audition videos online. This opportunity will benefit many people, as it is a chance for those unable to travel to audition cities to participate in AI's audition process.

It will greatly benefit those who live right here in Hawaii especially, since the only time auditions were held in Hawaii was way back in the show's third season in 2004. That season was big for Hawaii, as it featured Maui girl, Camille Velasco and then Maryknoll student and second runner-up, Jasmine Trias. Hopefully, with this new way to audition for American Idol will bring out the star power in Hawaii residents to represent our state.

Since its debut in 2002, American Idol has been finding new ways to incorporate new technological trends into its program by allowing viewers to not only call in their votes, but by sending in an SMS text message as well. Now with this new online audition process, American Idol is advancing even more ahead in the game on modern technology.

If you want to audition the old-fashioned way, American Idol's season 10 will be auditioning in Jersey City, NJ, Nashville, TN, New Orleans, LA, and San Francisco, CA (more cities will be added later.) But of course, the easier way to audition would be online. You can do so by signing up at www.myspace.com/americanidol for more information and to stay updated until the official audition date. Good luck and rock on!
