Disaster Recovery Service for Small to Mid-size Businesses

DRFortress has recently launched a new bundled package service called BCDR (Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery). This new service caters to the small to mid-size businesses in Hawaii. In the past, DRFortress has catered to larger enterprise customers that had large space requirements that could accommodate their entire IT and back-office systems hosted within our facility. The cost to lease a cabinet for a smaller business with only a few servers (such as their email and web server) was not cost effective. Via our new BCDR service we are now bundling a smaller space (1/4 to 1/2 cabinet) along with managed services.

Our basic BCDR bundled service solution comes with:
1) a smaller cabinet (1/4 to 1/2 cabinet) customized to the customer's specific equipment needs;
2) bundled bandwidth (customized 1M to 100M) and network services by partnering with our local carriers;
3) connectivity back to the customer's business home office or local branches.

How does BCDR help local businesses? By creating this smaller scale solution, we can now help small to mid-size businesses develop a disaster recovery solution for their smaller IT needs. For example, in the recent power outage, many businesses lost even their basic email capabilities as their servers were not protected by back-up power. With this affordable solution, small business can now justify the cost of protecting their critical servers or IT systems by taking them out of their under-protected IT rooms (usually office storage closets or small offices) located in their branch offices or homes and bringing the equipment into the DRFortress colocation facility. For a small monthly fee DRFortress will provide a 24x7 guarantee and ensure that their equipment will be protected from any future power interruptions, physical security breaches or disasters.

DR Fortress, LLC (“DRFortress”) is located in Honolulu, Hawaii where its management team built and continues to operate the State’s sole network neutral colocation facility as well as Hawaii’s only commercial internet exchange. DRFortress provides colocation and disaster recovery services, datacenter build-out consultation, and managed network services and engineering.

The DRFortress facility is over 21,000 square feet with 24x7 physical security protection and customer access. The facility's state-of-the-art design with redundant power, cooling and fire protection systems provide customers a guarantee that their IT equipment is protected from any business interruption resulting from loss of power, physical security breaches or natural disasters.

On December 11, 2006, our company officially began operations under the DRFortress brand when its founders purchased Equinix Pacific, Inc.’s (formerly Pihana Pacific) Hawaii datacenter. Since then DRFortress has built out a secondary space, doubling the space capacity, quadrupled the power capacity, and having significantly upgraded and retrofitted the original facilities. The facility contains the densest concentration of IP Carriers in the State as well as housing the backup communications center for the City of Honolulu.
