Critical Colocation Needs Addressed

On August 27, 2007, DRFortress, Hawaii’s premier datacenter and Internet peering exchange provider, announced that it has raised an additional $5M in private equity and financing, bringing their total funding to over $16 million. These additional resources will be used to complete a much-needed expansion project that will address the critical shortage of premium colocation space in the state. The company’s expansion project will more than double the current colocation space and infrastructure/power capacity.

DRFortress, the only Class-A premium facility in the state, is a vital resource in the local industry, offering collocation, peering exchange and remote assistance as well as full network connectivity options to help businesses manage and maintain their infrastructures. Increasingly, organizations are recognizing the benefits of collocating their critical equipment within a datacenter because of the time and cost savings resulting from the use of a shared datacenter.

Among DRFortress’ current customers are Mobi PCS, Servco Pacific, Fedex Kinkos and Hawaii’s largest hosting partners and value added resellers. In addition, DRFortress partners with Hawaii’s largest carriers including AT&T, Hawaiian Telcom, Pacific LightNet, Qwest and TimeWarner Telecom.
