Hawaii employees are always looking for ways to beat the traffic and employers are looking for ways to cut costs. Telecommuting and virtual offices address both issues. Put simply telecommuting is the ability to work remotely – as a worker who logs into the office from a home computer or works from a remote office. Increasingly companies are setting up flex-time and work-at- home schedules; allowing employees to work from home for an hour or two in the morning, coming into the office after the peak traffic hours. Or allowing employees to work from home one or two days per week reducing the need to support a full workforce on-site every day.
