Smart Socket is an energy saving device that allows consumers to monitor, decide and control electronic devices.

It is unique in that it is networkable, so you can have many smart sockets working for you and will display your consumption on a web site where you can monitor it and make an informed decision. The control is via the web and users can use their PC, smart phone or iPhone to control their smart sockets. Over time, Smart Socket may make recommendations on how you can better save electricity based on your past usage. Hence the name Smart Socket.

Russel is an entrepreneur in Oceanit charged with commercializing the innovations in science and technology developed within the firm. He joined Oceanit from Microsoft in Japan where he built the Regional Marketing team and Branded Entertainment and Experiences Team in Asia for Microsoft. Prior to Microsoft, he was the digital director at Beacon Communications, managing director at Organic and co-founder and CEO of XM Asia. He has won a Cannes Gold Lion and has been awarded a patent for his mobile inventions related to verifying age and identity. A native of Honolulu, his outside passions include surfing, snowboarding and skateboarding.
